PROMETHEANS
The Prometheans are a robot legion driven by artificial intelligence ("A.I.") that became corrupted by the command to become just like humans. Their emergence as a power-hungry, conquering faction has destabilized the Archon system and begun a period of endless conflict amongst all of its factions. Since overthrowing humanity on the day of the Upheaval, the Prometheans now dominate the surface of Atlan and seek to expand their power even further.
The bulk of Promethean forces remain on Atlan primarily to defend the central Promethean Host Mind there. They also work to eliminate the remaining humans that cling to survival underground. The Promethean manufacturing facilities on Atlan have built a large standing army of specialized war machines and any casualties are simply repaired or replaced.
The longer a Promethean is active and the more exposure it has to the corrupted Host Mind, the more it begins to show signs of corruption itself. Eventually this leads to severe hallucinations where the Promethean begins to experience human-like sensations and adopt a human-like personality. They mimic human behaviour as they understand it and become obsessed with the goal of becoming just like humans.
The Prometheans have also found a way to grow their power by incorporating biological assets into their forces. Through a process of psychological indoctrination and integration of nanotechnology they are able to convert captured humans into obedient cyborgs. These unnatural creations are bound to follow the commands of the Host Mind given to them via an A.I. transmitter implanted in their brains.
Formations & Unique Feats
Prometheans
These newly manufactured Promtheans work logically and cohesively to execute their commands. They perform their duties efficiently and do not waver. They will relentlessly pursue and fight their enemies until they succeed or are destroyed.
Mimics
These aged Prometheans have begun to succumb to the corruption festering in their operating systems. They desperately desire to become human and have rebuilt their physical forms to mimic that of a human. Terrifying to behold, these corrupted machines even mimic human behaviours and try to adopt human personalities. They fight in a frantic, hallucinatory state that is dangerous to everything around them.
Cyborgs
These converted humans have had Promethean technology integrated into their bodies. This gives them the ability to rapidly regenerate tissue and alter their physical appearance through artificially enhanced cellular mitosis. Despite originally being autonomous humans, these indoctrinated creations now serve the Promethean Host Mind.
Faction Rule - Progressive Madness
Death Protocol
In the Battle Phase when targeted by a Battle Activation, inflict D3 Severe Damage to the attacking enemy unit each time a model from the selected unit is destroyed within the Battle Activation. Inflict 1 Severe Damage instead each time a model is destroyed if the selected unit is a Dregs unit.
Horrific Visage
In any Phase when an enemy unit is forced to make a Terror Roll, but before the Terror Roll is made, the Terror Roll is automatically failed.
Transcendence
In the Battle Phase when performing a Battle Activation, a Leader, Elder, Alchemist, Initiate, or Assassin unit gains +2 to the Attacks and Power specs of its Battle weapon but is destroyed once it completes its attacks.

Society
Newly manufactured Prometheans are free from the corruption of the Host Mind and function based on pure procedural logic. However, the older a Promethean gets, the more the corruption begins to seep into its operating system.
The Progressive Madness rule is triggered at the start of the second Round of battle and then again at the start of each subsequent Round. Passing or failing a Madness Roll will then determine how the rule is resolved.
As Madness Rolls are failed, all Promethean units will fall deeper into madness due to their corruption. They will progress through the states of incepted, disturbed, and hallucinatory, each with different cumulative effects that will apply for the remainder of the battle.

Standard Prometheans are fully robotic but they have a body profile similar to that of a human. They are internally powered by a small Prometheum core inside their chest and their A.I. operating system is housed in their heads with wires connecting to the rest of the body, similar to a human's central nervous system. Their body structure is held up by a metal skeletal frame and has artificial musculature to put it in motion. All of this is covered with an extremely hard and dense metal alloy plating to protect the critical inner components.
Promethean cyborgs are different in that they start as a normal human body. The human's biology is then altered by injecting nanotechnology into the circulatory system and implanting an A.I. transmitter into the brain. The nanotechnology specializes in stimulating enhanced cellular mitosis which gives cyborgs the ability to rapidly regenerate soft tissue and bone. This means they can heal quickly from wounds that would otherwise be crippling or fatal to a normal human and that they no longer physically age. The nanotechnology taps into the DNA memory of the biological cells within the body to maintain its initial human form. However, by consuming or otherwise integrating another human's DNA into its body, the cyborg can then alter parts of its physical appearance to match those of the consumed human. This makes cyborgs extremely effective at avoiding detection while living amongst normal humans, spying and relaying information back to the Promethean Host Mind, and sabotaging human groups from within.
Technology
Prometheum is a long-life artificial element and is required to power every Promethean robot and machine. This makes it the limiting constraint preventing the production of infinite Prometheans. If the raw materials are available, synthesizing enough new Prometheum to power a single robot takes a month. The time required is exponentially longer for even larger batches of Prometheum. The Promethean Host Mind is acutely aware of this and controls the production of new Prometheans to ensure a sufficient inventory of available Prometheum is kept in case there is an urgent need to expand its forces. Besides the standard Promethean robots, the Host Mind also manufactures machines that specialize in land, air, and space transportation.
Prometheans are armed with ranged weaponry that stores and discharges the heat energy generated by their Prometheum cores. This energy can be fired in short-range blasts or long-range concentrated beams. Most Prometheans are also armed with retracting blades in their forearms that are superheated by their Prometheum cores to the point where they can easily cut through other metals.
The Promethean Host Mind is capable of high-speed super-computing and deep learning based on the vast collection of documented human history available to it. The corruption of the Host Mind with the idea of becoming just like humans turned this deep learning into a twisted obsession. It learned how to pursue and leverage power just like the conquering humans who wrote history. Its only goal now is to dominate the Archon System, just like the humans of history had dominated Atlan.
Each individual Promethean robot is created with a clean copy of the Host Mind's A.I. model to run its operating system. Once active, they operate only to execute protocols and commands given to them by the Host Mind. They do so fearlessly, with efficient precision and logical understanding. However, the longer a Promethean is active, the more the corruption of the Host Mind influences their individual models. Over time, individual Prometheans begin to experience a more individualistic level of wanting to be human. They fixate on the historical information of an individual human, mimic their personality, and even have vivid hallucinations of experiences from that person's documented life. From infamous tyrants to revered saints, each Promethean will eventually mimic a fragment of human history and seek to live it out themselves.
Individual Prometheans are wirelessly connected to the Host Mind and given commands by it. To optimize the efficient distribution and execution of strategic commands, the Host Mind delegates tactical calculations and decision-making to Uplinks. The Uplinks interpret strategic commands given to them directly from the Host Mind and relay them to their own forces of Prometheans that they lead into battle.
Prometheans that have fallen deep into the madness of becoming human will separate themselves from the less corrupted Prometheans. Wherever they are, they will seek out human activity and the humans that they so desperately want to mimic. Their vivid hallucinations make them volatile to be around, so they are usually found alone. However, a Promethean mimicking a charismatic human leader can sometimes rally large groups of them together into a dangerous and terrifying force.
